Declining costs you nothing: the site works the same either way. We ask because the law requires your permission before an analytics cookie is stored on your device, not because we need it.
2. What we use, and why
"Cookies" here also covers the browser's local and session storage, because those raise the same question even though they are not technically cookies.

That is the whole list. No advertising cookies, no remarketing pixels, no session recording, no cross-site tracking, no data sold to anyone.
3. No analytics cookie until you accept
Before you answer, and if you decline, we instruct Google Analytics that storage is denied. It then writes and reads nothing on your device: the _ga cookies in the table above are never created. Accept, and that instruction changes and those cookies are set.
To be exact about what remains: with storage denied, Analytics still registers that a page was viewed, without any cookie and without anything that identifies you or connects one visit to another. Nothing is stored on your device, which is what consent for cookies is about. If you would rather it did not run at all, Google publishes a browser opt-out add-on that blocks it everywhere.
Changing your mind in section 1 clears your choice and puts storage back to denied.
4. What our widget does on other people's websites
If you are reading this because you saw a ReviewsPlugin widget on someone's site, this is the section you want.
The widget sets no cookies. It does not identify you, does not follow you between sites, and does not report your behaviour to us or to the site owner.
Two of the layouts — the small floating badge and the flash popup — write a single value into your browser's session storage when you close them, so they do not pop back up on the next page. That value holds no identifier, is readable only by that one site, and disappears when you close the tab.
Loading the widget does mean your browser requests review content from our servers, which, like any request to any website, carries your IP address and browser user-agent. We use that to deliver the content and to stop abuse. We do not build a profile from it. Our Privacy Policy sets out the detail.
5. Controlling cookies in your browser
Independently of anything on this page, every browser lets you block or delete cookies, and most let you do it per site. The help pages for Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge explain how.
Blocking everything will sign you out of the app, because the session cookie is what keeps you signed in. Blocking analytics costs you nothing.
6. Changes and contact
If we add or remove anything that stores data in your browser, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a new item needs your consent, we will ask before setting it.
